摘　　要：双关语是英语修辞中一种常见的形式,它利用词的不同意思暗示或引起不同的联想,以达到语言生动活泼、诙谐幽默的修辞效果。根据双关语构成的特点,把双关语主要分为近音或谐音双关、同词异义双关或换义双关以及语义歧义双关3类,并介绍了双关语在游戏、文学、广告和招牌等几个方面的应用。As a common form of rhetoric, a pun can imply or suggest different associations, achieving lively and humorous rhetorical effect with different meanings of a word. This paper introduces the three main puns of homophone, homonym and homograph and their application in the fields of games, litera- ture, advertising and signboards.
