摘　　要：目的:探讨新型改良Quad-Helix矫治器的设计、制作和临床应用。方法:在传统Quad-He-lix矫治器和其他改良Quad-Helix矫治器的基础上,采用磨牙带环腭侧焊接阻挡丝的局部结扎方式固位。并通过典型病例介绍这种改良Quad-Helix矫治器的临床应用要点。结果:改良Quad-Helix矫治器可使上颌第一磨牙区牙弓宽度扩大7.65 mm,正畸扩展效果明显,临床固位稳定可靠,制作和使用简单方便,且具有增强支抗、牙弓保持等多种功能,能够有效辅助矫治复杂牙颌畸形。结论:改良Quad-Helix矫治器是一种性能良好、值得推广使用的扩弓矫治器。AIM： To design and make an improved Quad-Helix appliance, and to evaluate the clinical effects of the modified Quad-Helix appliance in correcting complex malocclusion cases. METHODS： The traditional and improved Quad-Helix appliances were modified by welded blocking metal wire in the palatal side of molar band as its retention in bundling. Finished cases were presented to introduce its clinical application. RESULTS： Application of the newly improved Quad-Helix appliance could increase the width between the maxillary first molars by 7.65mm, indicating its good maxillary arch expansion effects. Furthermore, the improved Quad-Helix appliance showed the ad- vantage of stable retention, convenient application, anchorage reinforcement and easy maintenance. It could effectively assist the correction of complex malocclusion. CONCLUSIONS ： The improved Quad-Helix appears to be a successful orthodontic appliance to expand the narrow maxillary arch.
