摘　　要：系统功能语法常常被用来分析各类语篇。本文试图使用该理论对欧亨利的短篇小说《麦琪的礼物》进行语篇分析,通过分析该语篇中的及物性结构解读语篇的概念功能,揭示它与语篇意义和主题的内在联系,从而达到对该语篇的深入理解。Functional grammar is applied to analyze various kinds of discourse. This paper attempts to analyze O. Herry＇s famous short story The Gift of the Magi through Functional grammar. And the analysis of ideational function through transitivity indicates the meaning and theme of the discourse, so as to help us have a better understanding of this discourse.
