摘　　要：作为一种文学创作技巧,象征手法被广泛运用于英国文学作品中。在托马斯·哈代的作品《无名的裘德》中,象征手法的运用尤其鲜明。哈代通过大量带有象征色彩的物象,暗示了自然规律的残酷,预示了主要人物的命运,从而深刻揭示了小说的主题。As a skill of literature creativity, Symbolism is comprehensively applied in the British literature works. In Jude the Obscure of Thomas Hardy, Symbolism is especially vivid. Hardy reveals the theme of the novel as well as implies the cruelty of natural rules by means of the variety of object images which possess the color of Symbolism, therefore, the miserable fate of the main characters in the novel is naturally predicted as well.
