摘  要:伴随着我国的经济发展,英语在整个社会生活领域所扮演的角色越来越重要,学习英语的人也随之增多。大学英语作为高等教育中的一门必修课其受关注度也逐渐提高。然而,在大学英语教学过程中经常会有很多学生英语水平到达一定程度后很难再有所突破。这在二语习得中被称为"石化"现象。本文结合我国大学英语教学中出现的"石化"情况提出一些应对策略,以期给教师和大学英语学习者一些启示。With the economic development of China, English has been playing an increasingly important role in the whole society, with which college English, a compulsory course in China~ higher education is being paid close attention too. However, there is a common phenomenon in college English teaching, that is, many students" English level goes to a stable state after reaching a plateau, which is called fossilization in SLA. This essay makes a brief introduction to the definition, characteristics and causes of fossilization. Then, combined with specific circumstances of college English teaching in China, a number of suggestions on how to prevent and reduce fos- silization are ventured.
