摘　　要：银洲贝丘遗址位于三水市白坭镇东南约6公里处,北距市府所在地西南镇约15公里。坐落在银洲村东侧一座孤立的椭圆形岗丘上,当地村民称其为豆兵岗。The Yinzhou shell-mound site lies on an oval hill east of Yinzhou village in Baini town, Sanshui city, and occupies an area of about 3,500 sq m. In 1990～1995, three seasons of excavation were carried out on the site, with systematic coring made in the spots with plentiful shell deposits on the western slope of the hill. There were discovered more than 40 tombs, above 70 ash-pits and two house-foundations. Among the abundant objects unearthed are the pottery fu cauldron, jar, dou stemmed vessels, ding tripod, vessel cover, stand and spindle whorl, stone adze, arrowhead, chisel, ring, cut- ter-scraper, bead and core of ring, bone arrowhead, hairpin and shuttle, and wooden ornament. Accord- ing to stratigraphic evidence and the formal change of pottery, the site can be divided into three parts. The first bears features of the late Shixia culture, the second corresponds to the early third phase of the Shixia site, and the third to the late third phase of this site. The excavation not only improves further the archaeological chronology of the prehistoric culture in the Zhujiang Delta, but also provides preliminary knowledge of the settlement layout on the Yinzhou site.
