摘　　要：历史语言学对语音对应研究较为详尽,而对同源词的语义一直缺乏系统探讨。本文认为,比较词义探讨语言的语义演变模式,其研究思路和成果对历史比较语言学有积极意义。It is compulsory to identify cognate words when historical comparison of related languages is conducted, for they are fundamental to historical comparativism. The studies on sound correspondences are thorough and detailed in historical linguistics, whereas systematic studies on the semantics of cognate words have been lacking, which is to date still highly controversial. This paper maintains that comparative study on lexical semantics explores into the modes of semantic shift of natural languages, the ideas and results of which are positive to historical comparativist studies.
