Objective To investigate the expression and relationship of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and matrix metalloproteinases -7( MMP-7 ) proteins in breast ductal carcinoma in situ and infiltrating ductal carcinoma. Methods Immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of VEGF and MMP - 7 proteins in 25 breast ductal carcinoma in situ, 68 breast infiltrating ductal carcinoma tissues and 17 normal breast tissue. Results The positive rates of VEGF and MMP -7 in breast ductal carcinoma in situ and breast infiltrating ductal carcinoma tissues were (92. 00%, 88.24% )and( 84.00%, 83.82% ), respectively. They were significantly higher than those in normal group(47.06% and 52.94%, P 〈 0.05 ). The expression of VEGF and MMP - 7 was significantly correlated with differentiation, TNM stage and lymph node metastasis ( P 〈 0.05 ). Conclusion VEGF and MMP -7 may all be involved in the carcinogenesis and progression of breast ductal carcinoma. And they maybe play a synergetic role in the process of breast infiltrating ductal carcinoma.
