摘　　要：以《环球英语》第一册为例,就英、美英语词汇差异的五类表现形式,即同词异义、同义异词、特有词、外来词和拼写差异作初步论述,最后指出这些差异在英语词汇教学上的意义。Taking World Link Student Book I as a case, this paper analyzes the vocabulary differences be- tween British English and American English in five respects, polysemant, synonyms, peculiar words, loanwords and spelling, then it illustrates the significance of understanding the differences in English vo- cabulary teaching.
