Objective:To provide the evidence of cerebral funtion for selecting and superseding pilats. Methods:The characters of in EEG of 30 pilot trainees(aged from 18-20 years old)were observed dynamically in 3 stages of learning, training and air force service. The correlation between the records of flying training scores and EEG of the trainees were analyzed. Results: In the 3rd stage of air force service, EEG power in δ frequency band decreased(F= 18.39 ,P=0.00) ; The increment of EEG power in α1 frequency band(F= 18.59, P = 0.00) and decrement of EEG power in α2 frequency band (F = 7. 15, P = 0.04)were observed. During the 3 stages, there were no significant changes in θ or β frequency band, the EEG amplitude in α frequency band decreased but there were no significant change in the right or left hemisphere. In the courses of training and air force service, the deviation of amplitude in α frequency band between the right or left hemisphere decreased but that of frequency in α frequency band had no difference. The increment of EEG power in αl frequency band changed as the following records of flying training. Conclusion: Diagnosis of EEG is a useful device for the evaluation of pilots' cerebral function.
