医学英语翻译中的“信达雅”

摘　　要：“信达雅”这一经典翻译学理论在医学科学迅猛发展的今天被赋予了新的含义，并可用于指导医学英语翻译人员更好地理解与翻译英文文献。为体现译文的严谨与专业，译者应保证信息准确完整、字句通畅易解之外，还需还原原文的语体特征，符合对译文“信达雅”的要求。在此，分析国内医学论文摘要翻译中的常见问题，就“信达雅”理论在医学英语翻译中的体现及指导意义作一概述，并对如何进一步理解该理论、提高译文质量提出若干建议。With the rapid development of medical science, ＇faithfulness, expressiveness and elegancy＇ theory has been endued with novel implications and can guide the translation of medical Eng- lish. A translation of medical English with high quality should contain faithful information, grammati- cally complete sentences and understandable words as well as maintain the stylistic features of Chinese abstract, which lead to the speciality and rigour of the article. The guiding role of ＇ faithfulness, ex- pressiveness and elegancy＇ theory in the understanding and translation of English papers was discussed in this article with common problems selected from medical journals. Several suggestions were proposed to the translators of medical English on the practice of the theory.
