摘　　要：本文是对北京外国语大学博士生导师张中载教授的访谈录，话题涉及当今哈代研究的重要意义，国内对他的研究现状及出现的问题，未来的发展趋势等。张教授认为经典改写是运用陌生化的手段，使熟悉的题材变得陌生，从而克服审美疲劳，符合与时俱进的时代要求。张教授还强调西方古典文论是现、当代文论的基础，学习古典文论能够提升修养，陶冶情操，对青年学者尤其大有裨益。This is an interview with Professor Zhang Zhongzai , a Ph. D supervisor of Beijing Foreign Studies University. The dia-logue covers the importance of studying Thomas Hardy＇ s works, the previous studies, limitations and the future trends of Hardy studies in China. Professor Zhang thinks that by applying the method of defamiliarization, canon rewriting makes the familiar unfamiliar, thus reducing aesthetic fatigue and helping the classics keeping pace with the times. He also emphasizes that the western classical literary theories are the foundation of modern literary theories. Western classical theories are helpful especially to young scholars because they can improve their learning and cultivate their good taste.
