摘　　要：杨宪益夫妇的《红楼梦》英译本自上世纪80年代中期就开始引起广泛关注。本文从讲述和展示两种叙述模式的角度,在话语和故事两个层次上,对该译本如何处理作为原著一大艺术特色的梦幻话语问题进行研究,并试图对某些相关问题作重新评价。A Dream of Red Mansions, Yang Hsien-Yi and Gladys Yang’s English translation of the classical Chinese novel Hongloumeng (The Story of the Stone), has attracted considerable critical attention since the mid-1980s. Based on the narratological distinction between telling and the showing and that between the discourse and the story, this paper takes another look at how the dreamlike and fantasied scenes in the source text have been rendered in Yang & Yang, with a view to deepening our understanding of some of the theoretical issues concerned.
