摘　　要：分析了重点实验室(工程中心)的属性、在大学中的功能定位、与大学核心竞争力的关系、其序列级别与特色优势的关系,认为重点实验室(工程中心)作为学科、人才、科研的支撑平台,是学校核心竞争力的重要体现。在建设过程中,以特色争创优势、以优势彰显特色、以比较优势打造竞争优势来形成重点实验室(工程中心)的特色优势。This article analyzes the function and position of the key laboratories（engineering centers） of colleges and universities,and their relation with the core competence of the university and relation between their classificatory grades and their characteristics and advantages from their attributes.It is considered that the key laboratories（engineering centers） of colleges and universities are the supporting platform of the subjects,talents and scientific research,also important embodiment of the core competence of universities.During their development,developing characteristics and advantages would be dependent on creating advantages by characteristics,highlighting characteristics by advantages,and building competitive advantages by compared advantages.
