冲突与合作:美国研究型大学教师评议会运作机制的案例研究

摘　　要：教师评议会是美国大学普遍设置的全校范围内教师参与大学治理的机构,东北大学是其中一个颇具特色的案例。透过该校校内各个群体对教师评议会的看法,理想状态下教师评议会的运作机制应是教师与行政人员之间既存在一定的建设性冲突,又互相合作。为此,我们需要重新认识教师评议会在美国大学治理中的作用及其在治理结构中扮演的角色,在现代大学制度建设过程中重视协调教师与行政人员之间的关系。The faculty senate is a basic organizational structure in American universities. The case from Northeastern University is one of the distinct instances. Comparing the differ-ences between the faculty and administrators＇ opinions toward faculty senate in Northeastern University, it suggests that the best relationship between faculty senate and administration is that there is a certain level of conflict and collaboration between these two parties. It needs to reexamine the role and function of the faculty senate within American research universi- ties, and aware that the relationship between faculty and administrator is a key factor in building up the modern Chinese university system.
