摘　　要：埃德加·爱伦·坡小说与众不同之处在于其文本世界里总是弥漫着恐怖与怪异相混合的魔鬼气息,而魔鬼形象的塑造也贯穿他的整个小说创作的历程,这是学界所没有关注到的一点。埃德加·爱伦·坡小说艺术展示出人类灵魂深处的最本源动力是一种无法控制的魔性,这魔性以人类的原欲和原罪为基石。爱伦.坡的创作来源于他的自尊意识、纯粹艺术精神和魔性的书写传统,其小说中对魔性的阐释是为了张扬人性的光辉,他清醒地认识到魔性在本质上是一种更为深刻、更为纯粹的人性。Edgar Allen Poe＇ s novels are unique in that they are always filled with a horrific and weird atmosphere, and the portrayal of devils is recurrent through his entire process of novel creation, which has been neglected by the academic circles. Allen Poe＇ s novel art shows us that the human source power is an uncontrollable evil spirit which is based on the primitive human desire and the original sin and is derived from Allen Poe＇ s self-respect consciousness, pure art spirit and diabolic writing tradition, the purpose of which is to reveal the splendor of humanism;while Poe realized that the essence of the evil spirit is a deeper and purer human nature.
