摘　　要：民族语言文化的研究是语言文化研究的重要组成部分。凭借对民族工作的满腔热情,几十年来,张公瑾在这块土地上默默耕耘与奉献,以其厚重的文化底蕴和学术基础成为我国傣族语言文化研究领域最有广度和深度的专家。他的研究领域涉及傣族语言、文字、文学、古文献、天文历法、农业科技、宗教等,并扩及其他民族的语言文化。他的丰硕成果与非凡建树对我国民族语言文化研究具有开创之功。The study of Minority languages and cultures constitutes one important part of language and culture studies as a whole. Professor Zhang Gongjin, with his profound knowl- edge about culture and academic training,has become an authority in the study of language and culture of Dai people after working in this field diligently and passionately for several decades. Such subjects as language, characters, literature, ancient scripts, astronomical calendar, agricultural science and technology religion of Dai people as well as language and culture of other ethnic groups are all covered by the study of professor Zhang. His outstanding achievement initiates a new era for the study of languages and cultures of ethnic groups in China.
