摘　　要：终身学习是21世纪的生存概念,人们为了生存与发展必须终身学习。自我导向学习是近年来成人教育领域发展成型的重要理论之一。文章介绍了该理论的形成过程和主要内容,阐述了成人自我导向学习能力的内涵,进而从自我导向学习理论建构的内涵中获取其对成人教育的一些启示。Lifelong learning is a concept of existence in the 21st century since we must keep learning the whole life to survive and to progress. In the field of adult learning, scholars have been making great efforts to construct the self - directed learning theory. This essay introduces the forming process and main ideas of the theory, explains the connotation of adult self - directed learning capa- bility, and then elicits implications on the adult education.
