摘　　要：《献给爱米莉的玫瑰》是威廉·福克纳的著名短篇小说,其看似荒诞甚至恐怖的情节实际上饱含着对人的耐受力的低调歌颂。爱米莉在家族没落时为了维护阶级尊严和家族体面作出的诸多努力、面对父权社会的桎梏统治对幸福保持的憧憬以及在爱情幻灭后表现出的浪漫情怀应该受到人们的尊敬。A rose for Emily is William Faulkner＇s famous short story, whose seemingly absurd or even horrible plot is actually a praise of human beings＇ endurance spirit. The efforts Emily made to maintain the class sanctity and fmnily＇s dignity, the longingfor happiness despite the patriarchal shackles and the romantic feelings she showed after the disillusion of love deserve our respect.
