跨文化交际中的模糊语言及对英语教学的启示

摘　　要：模糊语言在人们的交际中普遍存在,其模糊性是语言的内在属性,也是跨文化交际不可或缺的语用策略。模糊语言具有的不确定性、确定性和多样性特点被广泛使用在跨文化交际中,并且模糊语言的产生受文化因素影响深刻,如传统习俗、地理环境、文化语境和价值体系等;模糊语言在跨文化交际中具有其独特的语用功能,会话含义、合作原则、礼貌原则、面子观念等都影响着跨文化背景下的模糊语言的使用。跨文化交际视角下的模糊语言分析同时也为英语教学提供一定的启示。Vague language is common in communications, and vagueness is the inner attribute of all languages, which is also an inevitable pragmatic strategy in intercultural communication. Vague language in intercultural communication is often eharaeterized by indeterminacy, determinaey and variability. In addition, cultural elements such as traditional custom, geographical environment, cultural context and value system have a great impact upon vague language, which functions pragrnatieally with conversational implication, the maxims of the CP, PP and face theory as well. This analysis also offers certain enlightenment to English teaching.
