摘　　要：西方传教士的译介活动在明末清初和晚清时期形成了两次高潮,把西方先进的科学技术和新的思想观念引入中国,深刻地影响了中国近代社会和思想文化的发展变化。本文探讨了译介活动发生时中西方国家的社会文化背景、两次译介高潮的发展特征和对语言变革所产生的影响。The translation activities of the Western missionaries in China formed two translation climaxes in modern times. During this time, the western advanced science and technology with new ideas were introduced into China, which had profound influence on Chinese modern society, ideology and culture. The paper mainly deals with three aspects of the translation activities of the Western missionaries： its social and cultural background of China and Western countries, its development of the two translation climaxes and its influence on language reform.
