摘　　要：《喧哗与骚动》是威廉.福克纳"约克纳帕塔法世系"中的一部小说。小说中,康普生家的三代女性康普生太太、凯蒂、小昆丁都缺乏正确的空间意识,她们或固步自封,画地为牢,陷入空间瘫痪和哀怨之中,沦为可悲的空间剥削者;或矛盾徘徊,在两种空间意识的夹缝中挣扎,选择妥协和流浪;或激烈抗争,舍弃传统空间,却泯灭在现代空间的迷雾中。空间意识的错位导致了她们身份的异化和缺失,是造成三人悲剧的深层原因。在现代社会中,只有使传统私密空间与现代开放空间保持平衡,消除空间划分的性别桎梏,才能避免康普生家女性的悲剧。The Sound and the Fury is one of Faulkner’s Yoknapatawpha novels.In this novel the three Compson women all have some problems with their spatial consciousness：Mrs.Compson imprisons herself,falls into spatial paralysis and incessant complaint,and finally turns into a pathetic spatial exploiter;Caddy Compson contradicts herself,forever lingers between two kinds of spatial consciousness and at last chooses compromise and wandering;Miss Quentin fights fiercely,runs away from the traditional space,but vanishes among the fog of modern space.The displacement of their sense of space results in the alienation and loss of their identities.To avoid such tragedies,a balance should be maintained between the private sphere and the public sphere,and the gender barriers in spatial dimension in modern society need to be dissolved.
