摘　　要：玛丽·卡森是澳大利亚女作家考林.麦卡洛在《荆棘鸟》中塑造的女性形象之一,她以骄横张狂、精明强干的形象展现在读者的面前。虽然她不是故事中的主角,但是她的影响力是巨大的,她因嫉妒而引发的阴谋和报复事件贯穿整个小说的最深层内容。通过以弗洛伊德的三重人格结构理论,剖析玛丽.卡森在她60多岁时追求心仪的拉尔夫不成过程中所展现的复杂人格特点和动态发展,探求她命运悲剧的根源。Mary Carson is one of the images of women in the Thorn Birds written by Australian writer Colleen Mccullough.She is arrogant and insolent,but she is intelligent and capable image in the front of the readers.Although she is not a leading role in the novel,her influence is enormous.She takes the conspiracy and reprisals against Ralph because of her jealousy,which becomes the deepest content in the whole novel.The paper tries to use the theory of Freud＇s Tripartite personality structure to analyze Mary Carson＇s complex personality characteristics and dynamic development and the root causes of her tragic fate when she fails to pursue her favorite lover Ralph in her sixties.
