摘　　要：This thesis discusses the definition of oxymoron and its difference with Paradox at first.Then,on the basis of introducing the three theoretic backgrounds of oxymoron and its structure,this thesis has made an analysis of the application of oxymoron in one of Thomas MacDonagh's poems,finding that it has particular rhetoric functions in poetry.This thesis discusses the definition of oxymoron and its difference with Paradox at first.
