摘　　要：痰饮phlegm-fluid retention:(1)a general term for retention of phlegm and fluid in any part of the body;(2)a particular designation for retention of fluid in the gastrointestinal tract,for example,gastric retention in pyloric stenosis The term痰饮,first used in the Synopsis of Golden Chamber (《金匮要略》),generally refers to the disease caused by retention of fluid or infusion of fluid in any part of the body due to failure to transform痰饮 phlegm-fluid retention： （1） a general term for retention of phlegm and fluid in any part of the body; （2） a particular designation for retention of fluid in the gastrointestinal tract, for example, gastric retention in pyloric stenosis
