Objective To investigate the expression of CD105 in neovessels of gastric cancer and the expression of ICAM-1 in gastric cancer tissues and peripheral blood of patients with gastric cancer in order to explore their clinical significance in the growth, metastasis and prognosis of gastric cancer. Methods The microvessel density ( MVD ) in gastric cancer tissue and normal tissue was detected by immnnohistoehemistry staining by means of CD105 monoclonal antibody, and the expression levels of ICAM-1 in gastric cancer tissues and peripheral blood of patients with gastric cancer were detected by immunohistochemistry staining or enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), respectively. Results The MVD and expression levels of ICAM-lin gastric cancer tissues were significantly higher than those in normal tissues, and MVD and expression levels of ICAM-1 were correlated with the depth of invasion, lymphatic node metastasis and TNM staging ( P 〈 0. 05 or 〈 0. 01 ), however, which were not related to the differentiation degree of tumor ( P 〉 0.05 )Conclusion MVD marked by CD105 and ICAM-1 can be used as the objective indexes to reflect the biological behavior of gastric carcinoma, which can provide certain basis for evaluating tumor' s growth, metastasis, staging and patients' prognosis.
