Objective To study the main nutrients absorption availability of transgenic rice of HJC-I and G6-EPSPS in rats. Methods Wistar rats were randomly divided into seven groups, three groups of transgenie rice, three groups of non- transgenic rice and control group. The rats were fed with corresponding food for seven days. Apparent digestibility of protein, fat, carbohydrate, fiber, and protein efficiency ratio were compared. Results There were no significant difference in protein efficiency ratio between all groups except non-transgenic high group and control group(P〉0.05 ). Protein apparent digestibility, fat apparent digestibility, carbohydrate apparent digestibility and fiber apparent digestibility in all groups were higher compared with those of the control group, except protein apparent digestibility in low group and fat apparent digestibility in non-transgenie low group (P〈0.01). Conclusion There is substantial equivalence in absorption availability of the main nutrients (protein, fat, carbohydrate, fiber) between transgenic rice and non- transgenie rice in rats.
