摘　　要：依据上海交通大学2011年度世界大学学术排行榜,通过对美国排名前20位世界一流大学校长的学习经历、学科背景、学术荣誉、校长经历、工作经历等素质维度研究,揭示美国社会对担任世界一流大学校长的素质要求以及带给我们的重要启示。The construction of world-class universities with Chinese characteristics needs a galaxy of world-class presidents.Among the best universities in the world,70%are universities from the US,which is not without relationship with their presidents.Based on the ARWU issued by Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2011,this paper analyzes the qualities of these presidents such as academic qualifications,research interest,prizes and honors,and working experience.It is expected that the study can help reveal the requirements for a world-class university’ president and give us enlightenment in this regard.
