摘　　要：美国的高等教育认证,作为保障高等教育质量的重要手段,是通过区域性认证机构实现的。认证机构制订的认证标准,是衡量高等院校质量的重要依据,也是高等教育发展的风向标。近几年来,各区域认证机构先后对原有的认证标准进行了修订。通过对各区域新修订版本认证标准的通读和总结,笔者认为:认证标准的修订周期缩短,认证程序简化;形成性评价向总结性评价渗透;进一步肯定并鼓励高等教育多元发展,是美国高等教育认证的三个新趋势。这些趋势体现了美国高等教育认证理念和质量观上的变化和发展,为各国高等教育评估提供了有益的借鉴经验。As an important means of quality assurance in the U.S.A., the higher education accreditation is implemented by regional accrediting commissions. The commissions establish standards or criteria, which are principles of quality by which the commissions determine whether a college or institution merits accreditation, and they have guiding values as well for higher education development. Around 2010, all of the regional accrediting commissions adopt and make public new editions of standards or criteria. After reading through those editions, the author concludes that the shortening of editing cycle and simplification of accrediting process, the formative evaluation penetrating summative evaluation, and acknowledging and inspiring great diversity of colleges and institutes are three trends of higher education accreditation in the U.S.A. The new trends indicate changes or developments towards different ideas of higher education accreditation and new quality views, which provide the referential experience for the global higher education assessment.
