摘　　要：G.A.维尔克斯是澳大利亚史上第一位文学教授,毕生从事澳大利亚文学与文化研究,对澳大利亚民族文化问题提出了真知灼见。与社会历史学家不同,他试图从文学作品中找寻澳大利亚民族文化发展的印记。他的卓越贡献在于精确地勾勒出澳大利亚民族文化的发展轨迹,并通过对澳大利亚民族文化迷思的反思来探寻其发展的理想之路。As the first professor of Australian literature in Australian history, G. A. Wilkes has been devoting himself to the study of Australian literature and culture and has advanced insightful perspectives on Australian cultural issues. Unlike social historians, he aims to seek literary evidences for the Australian cultural development. His great contributions lie in outlining the developing traces of the Australian national culture through reflections on different Australian myths in Australian cultural development.
