摘 要:英语语调作为超音段的最重要、最困难的一部分,成为广大外语学习者难以逾越的鸿沟。本文作者发现学生在语调方面意识薄弱。并以此为契机,通过英文影视为蓝本,解释句子停顿的特点,以及停顿处语调的变化和功能,即,本族语者在句子停顿处的音调经常使用中国学生避免使用的升调、平调等;而这种语调的变化传达了与字面吻合的语义功能,或传达与字面不同的含义或情感态度(即语用功能);并进而提出相应的学习语调的策略。As the essential part of supra-segmental features, intonation has always been the most tricky problem for English learners. The author' has realized that students are quite weak in their intonation awareness. Therefore, based on English movies, the author attempts to reveal the characteristics of pauses, and the corresponding changes and functions when it comes to intonation. The findings are: native speakers tend to use the rising or flat tone in pauses;the changing tones usually help convey a certain semantic function the same as the literal meaning,or a different meaning and attitude (the pragmatic function). Then, a further suggestion is made as the strategies on intonation learning.
