摘　　要：以菲茨杰拉德的《了不起的盖茨比》故事为范本,借用文化研究批评理论,对"爵士时代"背景下的汤姆与威尔逊太太所代表的高雅文化和通俗文化之间的"文化论争"作了细致的分析,以探讨他们的命运结局———复合与灭亡。This essay makes an analytic study on the ＂cuhural debates＂ between high and low cultures in the ＂Jazz Age＂ represented by Tom and Mrs. Wilson from Fitzgerald＇s The Great Gatsby. With the help of cultural studies, the purpose is to discuss their destinies： reunion and death.
