摘　　要：本文着重分析美国犹太作家哈伊姆·普托克的代表作《选民》与犹太教传统"选民"观之间的互文关系。研究认为,《选民》通过描写美国东欧犹太移民群体内部正统派犹太教徒与世俗主义者对以色列复国主义的意见分歧及其相关的家庭父子关系,阐释了普托克在复杂政治语境中对犹太神学的反思,指出普托克视阈中的选民并非凌驾于他民之上,而在于对世界各民族所负的历史使命与责任。作者由此把传统犹太教的"选民"观提升为整个人类的普世主义思想。The genesis of this study is a probe into Chaim Potok＇s The Chosen and its intertextuality with the Judalc notion of the ＂chosen＂. With an account of the confrontations between Hasi- dism and Secularism in terms of Zionism and its concurrent con- sequences of father-son motif in the Jewish family ,this study re- veals that Potok, in view of a complicated political climate, has re-examined the Jewish theology, i. e., Israel as a chosen people are not superior to others. Instead, choseness means responsibili- ty for other peoples. Potok uses the Judaic notion of the ＂cho- sen＂ as a key to interpreting and integrating the universality of human brotherhood.
