摘　　要：印度农业大学机构在使命与目标上,集农业教学、科研和推广于一体,偏重于基础和应用性学科;在管理模式上,采用由中央和地方政府负责的集权与分权混合制。这些曾推动了印度高等农业教育的发展,但由于受政府过分的行政束缚,长期脱离于主流高等教育体系,未能适应综合化和跨学科发展趋势,导致近20年发展缓慢且后劲不足。Abstract：Indian higher agricultural education has its own characteristics in missions and goals focusing on basic and applied disciplines with integrity of teaching, research and promotion. It adopts a mixed-mode system of centralization and decentralization with central and local co-management in terms of management mode, which have greatly promoted the development of higher agricultural education in India. Nevertheless,due to the government＇s excessive administrative restraint, long-term out of the mainstream higher education system, and the failure to adapt to the trend of integrative and interdisciplinary development of higher education, it has not timely adjusted the strategic goals and management mode, which have led to the poor development and lack of stamina in the last two decades.
