Ischemic cerebrovascular disease (ICVD) can cause varying degrees of neurological dysfunction, threaten to the physical health of people. Ischemia-reperfusion injury is one of the major damage causes of cerebral ischemic diseases. Therefore, to clarify the pathophysiological mechanisms of development of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury as well as the prevention and control measure have become recent research focus. This article will review and induce the molecular mechanism related to ischemia-reperfusion injury and the protective effect ofisoflurane preconditioning in cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury analyze the effect of the 5-LOX and its metabolites on cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury as well as their interaction with other molecules, explore the possible role of 5-LOX and its metabolites in the effect of isoflurane preconditioning on cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury. The aim is to investigate the possible role of 5-LOX and its metabolites in cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury and provide more theory for prevention and control of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury.
