Objective Using NRS-2002, to assess the nutritional risk of elderly inpatients with digestive diseases and evaluate its clinical significance, and discuss the nursing measures. Methods In according with NRS-2002, completed by trained nurses, we surveyed the rates of the nutritional risk and the nutritional support situations of the elderly patients 965 y) suffered with digestive diseases, and then compared to the younger ones(〈 65 y) Results The rate of nutritional risk of the elderly inpatients with digestive diseases was significant higher than the one of the controls (32.95% vs 18.28%, P〈0.05). In the 5 tops of nutritional risk, were the digestive malignant tumor, liver cirrhosis, peptic ulcer, biliary disease, and chronic gastritis. However, 72.41% elderly inpatients with nutritional risk and 50.85% with no risks were given enteral or parenteral nutritional support during the hospitalized period. The incidence rates of elderly nutrition deficiency, overweight and obesity are 13.64%, 28.41%, and 10.23%. Conclusion There was high nutritional risk rate in elderly inpatients with digestive diseases. For different patients, should give appropriate nutritional support and nursing care.
