人性和神性的冲撞与融合——试析《人生的枷锁》的宗教意识

摘　　要：文章指出,毛姆的《人生的枷锁》中,神性与人性并非完全对立,它们从不同方面对人进行关怀,统一于每个人身上。菲利普虽然抛弃宗教信仰,但保留了基督教的道德观念;牧师大伯终身传教,却对尘世生活十分留恋。他们在神性与人性的漩涡中挣扎,只有当二者和谐一致时,才能感到幸福,反之,则很痛苦。菲利普与大伯的人生探索,为人们指出了心灵救赎的道路。This article points out that in Maugham＇s Of Human Bondage, the humanity and the divinity are not a to- tal antinomy. , and either of them cares in its unique way, and eventually unifies everyone. The character Philip abandons his religious belief, yet maintains the morality of Christianity. His uncle dedicates his life to the religion, yet often wanders around the earth life. Both of them are fighting against the humanity and the divinity. It is only when the two are consistent that the characters are content, if not, painful. Philip and his uncle＇s search for life is a path for redemption.
