摘　　要：运用认知学的理论分析中美传统节日的特征并揭示了二者的差异,认为其折射出中美两国深厚的文化底蕴以及截然不同的深层文化内涵。This paper analyzes the characteristics of Sino - American traditional festivals based on the theory of cognitive psychology to show the differences between Chinese and American tra- ditional festivals and the deep cultures of the two countries＇ traditional festivals. Traditional fes- tivals are a part of the centuries - old historical culture of a nation. Cultural details and com- pletely different and profound cultural connotations are reflected in the characteristics of Sino - American traditional festivals.
