“语句”和“代词”的设定对英汉指代消解影响的对比分析

摘　　要：本文以向心理论的参数化研究为理论框架,通过对标注语料的分析,初步探讨了"语句"与"代词"这两个参数的设定对英汉指代消解影响的异同。研究结果表明,英汉两种语言的指代消解首先表现为一定程度的一致性:1)将语句设定为小句所得到的零形代词消解结果,要普遍优于将语句设定为自然句;2)零形代词的消解准确率要远高于第三人称代词;3)代词的设定对指代消解的影响要比语句大;4)做主语的指代词的消解结果要好于做其他语法角色的指代词。两种语言同时也表现出一定的差异性:1)汉语在两种语句设定下的消解准确率都远高于英语;2)语句的设定对英语第三人称代词消解的影响要远远大于汉语。This paper adopts a parametric approach to the Centering Theory and carries out an analysis of the annotated corpora of Chinese and English folklore and children＇ s stories to examine the effects of the setting of two Centering parameters, namely ＂utterance＂ and ＂R1 - pronoun＂ , on the resolution of Chinese and English anaphora. Results show that there are following similarities in the two languages ： 1 ） identifying utterances with clauses yields a significantly higher precision rate in zero anaphora resolution than identifying them with sentences; 2） zero anaphora resolution achieves a much better result than pronoun resolution ; 3 ） the setting of the ＂R1 - pronoun＂ parameter has a much stronger impact on the resolution than the ＂utterance＂ parameter, and 4 ） the resolution of anaphors on the subject position shows a better result than those on other grammatical positions. However, differences are also found between the two languages： 1 ） Chinese anaphora resolution yields much higher precision rates than the English one in both of the two definitions of ＂ utterance＂, and 2 ） the setting of ＂utterance＂ produces a stronger effect on pronoun resolution in English than in Chinese.
