摘　　要：言语幽默是一种极普通的语言现象。但古今中外对它的研究却从未间断过。哲学、美学、心理学,社会学等均是幽默研究的传统领域并积累了大量的研究成果。与此相比,语言学对言语的研究还是近年来才兴起的。英语幽默丰富多彩,表达手段及表现形式也多种多样,它是英语语言的精华和重要组成部分。因此,理解和运用英语幽默具有很强的现实意义。Humorous language is a very widespread language phenomenon, but it is never stopped throughout history both at home and abroad. Philosophy, esthetics. psychology and sociology are all traditional fields to stUdY humor and have achieved amount of achievements.ln contrast, linguistics, especially pragmatics. is a new filed that is came into being in recent years.English humor is colorful,so the expression methods and expressions form which： iare the essence and the most important part of English language.So there are practical meaning in apprehending and applying the English humor
