摘　　要：多元化经营一直是战略管理领域研究的重要议题。本文在系统梳理国内外有关多元化经营研究文献的基础上,分别从制度、产业组织、资源基础、委托代理和财务五个视角论述了多元化经营的理论渊源,并从分析层次、研究动因、研究议题和研究方法等角度对多元化经营的五种理论进行比较分析。依据多元化经营的前因、策略和结果构建了一个关于多元化经营研究的整合框架来揭示其内在机理。最后在简评多元化经营研究现状的基础上对未来研究进行了展望。Diversification has been one of the most importantly research issues in strategic management. Based on a survey of previous literature, the paper discusses the theoretical origins in terms of five dimensions including in- stitutions, resources, agents, finances as well as industry organizations. On the ground of the above overview, a num- ber of comparisons have been made between the five diversification theories from levels of analysis, the research mo- tivation, research issues and study methods. According to the diversification antecedents, strategies and results the author has constructed a diversification integration research framework to reveal its inner mechanism. Finally after a brief comment on the present research about diversification, the future research has been prospected. Diversification is a kind of operation mode which is used to satisfy the business growth or expansion by increas- ing the number of units or industries that the firm involves （Gort, 1962）. In research area such as strategic manage- ment, industrial organizations as well as financial management and so on, considerable concern has arisen over the diversification thesis. An early development in the history of research on diversification was mostly under the frame- work of industrial organization theory analysis. Then related theories including resource based theory, principal-agent theory as well as institutional theory contributed considerably to the content development of diversification. The au- thor reviewed the previous empirical research and found that the most literature in terms of diversification was based on five angles like industrial organizations, institutions, resources, finances and agents. In terms of the research meth- ods, the authors found that there existed a big difference between various theories. For example, institutional theory would like to use case study or qualitative study to discuss diversification problems.
