Two wild strains and two cultivated strains of Auricularia auricula-judae were selected to investigate the growth tolerance and bioac-cumulation characteristics under different concentrations of Cd in terms of colony diameter, dry weight of mycelia and Cd content in mycelia. The results showed that the Cd tolerance of the two wild strains were better than that of the two cultivated strains. Low concentration Cd( 〈 2 mg/L ) promoted the growth and dry weight of mycelia of wild strain YAASM1399 while had little effect on the other wild strain YAASM1402, but the growth rate and dry weight of mycelia of two cultivated slrains were significantly inhibited. The Cd content in mycelia of four strains increased with the increase of Cd concentration in liquid media and the abilities of bioaccumulation to Cd of strain YAASM2691 was relatively stronger than the other strains. Although the removal rate to Cd was higher than the other three strains at low Cd concentration( 〈2 mg/L ) ,YAASM2692 could not grow at high Cd concentration. Considering the growth tolerance and bioaccumulation a-bilities to Cd, YAASM1402 was more suitable than the other three strains to remove Cd from Cd pollution ecological environment.
