摘　　要：福克聂提出的心理空间理论成功解释了指称晦暗现象,对透视小说中的误会大有帮助,且随着复合空间理论在对比喻的研究领域取得了令人满意的结果,复合空间理论已可应用于对文学文本的解读。本文尝试用福克聂的心理空间理论分析欧.亨利短篇小说《警察与赞美诗》中的误会和比喻的,证明语言学分析可以为文学作品的欣赏和评价提供新的视角。Mental spaces theory by Facuconnier has succeeded in analyzing referential opacity phenomenon,which helps to comprehend the misunderstandings in literature. Meanwhile, conceptual blending theory has gotten satisfactory achievements in expounding metaphors, which makes it another way to interpret literature text. By usingmental spaces theory to analyze the misunderstanding and the metaphor in ＂ The Cop and Anthem＂, we confirm that linguistic analysis can provide us with a new perspective to appreciate and evaluate literary works.
