摘　　要：语言意识是借助语言手段及联想场而形成和外化的意识映像的总和。语言意识具有人本属性和民族属性。任何语言意识都是具体某个民族在特定的社会历史文化背景下形成的。跨文化交际的实质是两种或多种语言背后意识映像的交流,是两种或多种文化的相互影响和对话。语言意识是影响跨文化交际的核心因素,在跨文化交际中体现了其认知功能、交际功能、情感功能和元语言意识功能。Language consciousness is a summation of consciousness image which is formed from linguistic devices and association fields; in the meantime, language consciousness is psychological mechanisms of speech activities. It has anthropocentric and national characteristic. Each language consciousness is formed in certain social and historical culture background. The essence of cross - cultural communication is the language consciousness image exchange, cultural interaction and dialogue. Language consciousness is the core factor influencing cross - cultural communication and embodies its cognitive function, commu-nicative function, phatic function and meta-language consciousness function in the cross-cultural com-munication process.
