摘  要:生与死是人类必须面对的两大人生主题。曹禺在其早期戏剧创作中,对死亡的态度是经过发展变化的。起初,由于人们对死亡的突然性无法预知,于是容易陷入混乱无序状态,无论四凤、周冲还是周萍之死,都使读者深深地体会到死亡之残酷。当人们意识到这一点时,便对死亡产生了恐惧的心态,试图逃避死亡,远离痛苦,如《原野》中陷于黑林子不能自拔的仇虎。但死亡的不可避免性又不以人们的主观意志而改变,于是作家就赋予《日出》中陈白露漠视死亡的勇气和《北京人》中曾皓直面死亡的态度。曹禺将他对死亡的态度与思考,巧妙地融入自己的作品中,表达出作家对人生彼岸世界的凝望与思考,极大提升了作品的哲学意蕴。Life and death are two major issues that human beings have to face.In his early creation of dramas,Cao Yu’s attitudes towards death changed from time to time.In the very beginning,characters in dramas could not predict their deaths,so they came into confusions and chaos.For example,the deaths of Si Feng,Zhou Chong and Zhou Ping revealed the cruelty of death to readers.When the characters realized this,they became horrified and tried to escape from death and avoid agony,for example,Qiu Hu who hid himself in a forest.However,since death is unavoidable,Cao Yu created the courage to face death by two characters,namely,Chen Bai-lu and Zeng Hao.By his works,Cao Yu expresses his attitudes and thoughts on death,which elevates the philosophical connotations of his works.
