According to reports,Deng Wendi was extremely shocked when she learned that Murdoch was seeking a divorce.It seems that she never expected a day like this to arrive.There are many in the western media that see Deng as an 'opportunist',a failed businesswoman and an extremely controlling wife and mother.The question everyone is asking now is whether she really has the ability to upset News Corps as it looks like her time is over.Regardless of the outcome Deng will be an important variable in the future direction of News Corps.In 2007,the behest of Australian magazine Good Weekend, biographer Eric Ellis spent 3 months and 25,000 American dollars to visit Xuzhou,Guangzhou and Beijing in China,as well as the United States in an attempt to paint a picture of Deng's life.In this issue,China Entrepreneur interviews Ellis,currently the Europe correspondent for Australia's Global Mail,and discusses his view of Deng.
