摘　　要：肯尼思·华尔兹出类拔萃的理论品性以及结构现实主义的创造性,成功启发了过去三十多年间国际关系理论研究的路径与方向,使其能够长久地处于学术论争的中心。作者通过对华尔兹理论品性的解读,揭示了理论品性与理论创新之间的内在联系。正是由于华尔兹坚持理论研究的纯粹性和严谨性,并且对理论的解释范围和能力做出了几近严苛的限定,才使得以简约、精致和严密为特点的结构现实主义国际政治理论的构建成为可能。当前,国际关系理论创造陷入沉寂期,而国际政治现实的发展对于理论创新仍有强烈需求。由于理论品性在很大程度上影响着理论创新的广度与深度,深入剖析华尔兹的理论品性与理论创新之路对于认清当下国际关系理论研究陷入困境的原因与症结具有重要启示意义。尽管结构现实主义始终饱受质疑与批评,但华尔兹的学术成果、学术理念和学术精神将始终启发后来者为实现理论创新而努力,这是他留给国际关系学界的持久学术遗产。Kenneth N.Waltz's prominent theoretical character and the originality ofStructural Realism provide the study of international relations theory with numerous useful inspirations.Through a profound elucidation of Waltz's theoretical character,this article attempts to reveal the relationship between theoretical character and theoretical innovation.It is precisely Waltz's estimable theoretical character that established Structural Realism's theoretical position and promoted the overall development of the discipline of International Relations.In summary,the theoretical character largely affectedthe breadth and depth of theoretical innovation and its contribution to the growth of knowledge.Furthermore,this article makes a thorough analysis about significant problems in the current study of international relations theory,especially the infertility in theoretical innovation and its primary causes.On this account,the authors point out that Waltz's theoretical character and the ways of theoretical innovation have important implications for breaking predicament in this field and sum up their enlightenment plus the specific ways in theoretical innovation,hoping to promote further development in the study of international relations theory.Moreover,Waltz's academic achievements,thoughts and spirit will lead newcomers to make unremitting efforts to achieve theoretical innovation,and this is the everlasting academic legacy he left for scholars of international relations.
