A giant solitary fibrous tumor of the pleura

摘　　要：To the editor： A 65-year-old female, 34 kg weight farmer was referred to our hospital in 2008 with shortness of breath for a year. A mass measuring about 9 cm × 6 cm in the left hemithorax was revealed by chest radiography in 1981 （Figure l A）, and chest CT in 2008 revealed a much bigger soft tissue mass with large pleural effusion in left hemithorax （Figure IB）. Lung function showed the forced expiratory volume in one second （FEV1） was 0.42 L only. On December 4, 2008, a left thoracotomy was done.
