Objective To investigate the application effect of Solution-Focused Approach in patients with stroke rehabilitation training. Methods Totally 50 patients, who were admitted to Southern medical university affiliated hospital from March 2011 to March 2012, were successively divided into observational group and control group according to the time of admission, with 25 patients in each group. Patients in the control group received conven- tional rehabilitation training only, while the patients in the observational group received conventional nursing plus solution-focused approach. The effect for athletic ability and self-help ability in both groups were evaluated with simple Fugl-Meyer score and modified Barthel index score at the time of admission, 3 weeks, 3 months and 12 months after the intervention, respectively. Results Significant difference of the both groups in simplified Fugl- Meyer score and modified Barthel index score were not found at the time of admission(P〈0.05). Meyer score and modified Barthel index score in observation group were significantly higher than the control group at the time of 3 weeks, 3 months, 6 months and 12 months after intervention (P〈0. 05). Conclusion Solution-focused approach can significantly improve the effectiveness of rehabilitation in stroke patients.
