摘　　要：高职英语课程肩负着培养高职学生英语应用能力的重任,以满足学生未来工作岗位和职业发展对英语使用的工具需求和素养需求。因此,高职英语课程教学应在继续巩固英语基础知识和训练英语基本技能的同时,改革课程设计理念和原则,改革教学目标、内容、方法和评价,突出课程的职业属性和服务功能,重点在实现课程教学学而能用、学以致用和持续可用的职业能力培养目标。The rapid development and strategic shift of higher VTE in new century pose dramatic opportunities and challenges for English course teaching in vocational and technical colleges. To fulfill the aim and mission of VTE, it is required that English course teaching should focus on promoting students＇ professional English competency. Thus corresponding reform actions should be taken to solve the major problems in this process, which attaches great importance to the realization of the aim of VTE and the value of English course itself.
